The City of Prince Albert is currently accepting applications for casual positions of Assistant Lifeguard in the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department.   • Minimum age 15
  • If under 16:
  • Provide a note of parental consent to be employed
  • Obtain a Young Worker Readiness Certificate prior to commencing work
  • Possession of the following current awards:
  • Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross certification
  • Standard First Aid and CPR C
Principle Duties & Responsibilities: * Key Assistant Lifeguarding Duties
  • Responsible for monitoring proper safety procedures, and in cases of emergency, performs first aid, water rescues and other assistant lifeguarding duties within their skills and training.
  • Supervises the activities of patrons using the facility in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • In consultation with Lifeguards, attend to inquiries of patrons
  • Carries out assigned Assistant Lifeguarding duties to ensure a safe and healthy atmosphere conducive to aquatic fun and education while promoting a leisure atmosphere.
  • Enforces swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by the City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act.
  • Follows City of Prince Albert Aquatic Manual and related Safe Work Practices.
  • Participates in cleaning and disinfection duties.
  • General Duties
  • Participates in ongoing staff in-service training and development programs.
  • Practices and maintains lifesaving and aquatic fitness skills.
  • Maintains good public relations with patrons and facility staff.
  • Performs Assistant lifeguarding roles and responsibilities as outlined in the City of Prince Albert Aquatic Manual.
