Of course, should a night owl emerge with a preference for overnights, the option for a strict overnight schedule is always available. Otherwise, the sharing of these shifts via rotation helps to maintain a healthy work-life balance for ALL!What you needPrevious veterinary experience is an assetExceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clientsStrong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse teamCompassion and a nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patientsAbility to remain calm and efficient in stressful situationsPositive outlook and enthusiasm for learningInitiative in carrying out assignments independentlyYour role will beAssisting Veterinarians and Technicians with client support and treatment of pet patients, including low-stress restraint techniquesProviding support to the Client Care service, occasionally covering shifts in reception when necessaryPreparing medications and supplies for clients to take home (per DVM and RVT instruction)Providing compassionate care to hospitalized patients, including feeding and walkingHandling and maintaining surgical equipment, including setup, cleaning and sterilizationGeneral hospital care including cleaning kennels, restocking treatment areas, and maintenance of outdoor areasWhat VCA Canada OffersJoin our team and you will make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families!
