- Supports the recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of field staff.
- Supports field staff in their event-related management responsibilities.
- Coordinates the logistics for the delivery of field staff training.
- Provide advice, guidance, and interpretation support to the public.
- Supports local jurisdictions when electoral events are held in conjunction with local authority elections.
- Provide other administrative support and related duties as assigned.
- A related Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Governance and Civil Studies, or Office Administration plus a minimum of three years of related experience (preferred) or a related Diploma in Business, Public Administration, Governance and Civil Studies, or Office Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution plus a minimum of five years related experience.
- Preference will be given to applicants with work experience in:
- Providing expert advice, guidance, and assistance to stakeholders over the phone, email, and in person.
- Interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and policies in complex situations.
- Supporting recruitment and selection, onboarding, and training of new employees.
- Project and/or event coordination, managing projects or project components.
- Election administration.
- Ability to clearly communicate in writing using plain language.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills.
- Ability to train employees, individually and in groups, to understand and perform detailed procedures.
- Ability to synthesize complex legislation and procedures.
- Ability to learn and utilize software applications and assist others in their use.
- Self-motivated and capable of handling a wide range of project responsibilities.
- Ability to adapt and respond to change positively.
- Creativity, initiative, and sound judgment, particularly as it relates to problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and produce results within deadlines.
- Effective administrative, research, and analytical skills.
- Fulfil the requirement to act as a non-partisan representative of Elections Alberta.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and training.
- Travel, occasionally, to locations throughout the province.
- Work outside normal business hours, occasionally, to meet deadlines.
