- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, order pickers, and other powered/industrial equipment
- Conduct detailed inspections to identify wear, safety concerns, and potential mechanical or electrical issues
- Complete maintenance based on OEM standards, service intervals, and Wajax quality expectations
- Proactively identify and recommend corrective repairs to customers to prevent equipment failure
- Travel to customer sites to perform on-site maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, required follow-up work, and maintenance recommendations
- Represent Wajax professionally while building strong, trust-based customer relationships
- Coordinate with Service Planners, Shop Technicians, and Field Service teams as needed
- Accurately complete service reports, inspection checklists, and maintenance documentation
- Record findings, parts used, and required follow-up work in applicable systems
- Ensure all work complies with safety, regulatory, and company standards
- Perform all work in compliance with Wajax safety policies and customer site requirements
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices
- Participate in ongoing safety training and certifications
- Mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical experience (material handling, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial equipment considered)
- Experience performing preventative maintenance or service work in a field or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification or registration as a Heavy Equipment Technician apprentice (any level)
- Experience with material handling equipment (forklifts, powered industrial trucks)
- Basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems knowledge
- Familiarity with OEM maintenance guidelines
- Experience using digital service documentation tools or CMMS systems
