We are hiring a versatile Mining Engineer to support either mine planning and operations or maintenance and reliability at one of Canada's premier mining sites. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to optimizing production, equipment performance, and mine design. Whether your background lies in engineering operations or equipment reliability-we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesMine Planning & OperationsCollaborate with the Mine Planning team to develop comprehensive short and mid-range mine plans, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.Utilize advanced software to optimize mine plans, considering equipment utilization, ore sequencing, and waste management.Conduct regular site visits and pit tours to monitor mining progression, identify bottlenecks, and propose adjustments for optimal productivity.Work with the Mine Engineering team to review and optimize design standards for the autonomous fleet.Integrate within the production planning, maintenance, and reliability teams to provide recommendations for daily practices on site.Foster strong communication with the customer’s Mining Automation team to enhance planning and maintenance efficiency.Stay updated with industry best practices, technological advancements, and emerging trends in mine planning, maintenance, and reliability.Promote and ensure adherence to all safety standards and procedures.Maintenance & ReliabilityWork with the maintenance planning team to develop and optimize preventive maintenance schedules that align with production requirements and equipment availability.Analyze equipment performance and failure data to identify recurring issues and recommend reliability improvements.Collaborate with maintenance supervisors in the field to optimize workflow processes, reduce equipment downtime, and improve overall maintenance efficiency.Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.Support the optimization of condition-based monitoring technologies to transition from reactive to predictive maintenance strategies.Integrate within the production planning, maintenance, and reliability teams to provide recommendations for daily practices on site.Foster strong communication with the customer’s Mining Automation team to enhance planning and maintenance efficiency.Stay updated with industry best practices, technological advancements, and emerging trends in mine planning, maintenance, and reliability.Promote and ensure adherence to all safety standards and procedures.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in a mining technical role, including mine planning, reliability, maintenance planning/scheduling, or operations.Post-secondary education in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Registration as a Professional Engineer in BC or Alberta is an asset.Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms.Proficiency in using office programs like MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Demonstrated understanding of best practices in mine design, planning, and operations.Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance (RCM) principles and predictive maintenance technologies.Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.Technical proficiency in mine planning software such as Civil CAD, Vulcan, Deswik, or similar tools.Commitment to safety and risk management in mining operations.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryFlexible benefits plan effective from day oneMatching pension contributionsEmployee Share Purchase Program with matchingRRSP and TFSA optionsPaid vacation with increasing entitlement based on years of service
