About the RoleOur client, a reputable General Contractor , is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead the construction of a $20M healthcare project in Hamilton . This is a long-term opportunity on a complex institutional project with an expected duration of approximately four years.The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSite LeadershipManage and oversee all on-site construction activities from start to completion.Coordinate daily operations of subcontractors, trades, and suppliers.Ensure work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and schedules.Schedule & Progress ManagementMaintain the construction schedule and ensure milestones are achieved.Coordinate sequencing of trades to maintain workflow and productivity.Work closely with the Project Manager to monitor progress and address delays.Health & SafetyEnforce strict health and safety policies and ensure compliance with provincial regulations.Conduct regular safety meetings, site inspections, and hazard assessments.Promote a strong safety culture among all workers and subcontractors.Quality ControlMonitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and healthcare standards.Conduct inspections and manage deficiency lists.Ensure all installations meet regulatory and building code requirements.Communication & CoordinationAct as the primary on-site contact for subcontractors and consultants.Participate in site meetings and provide regular progress updates.Collaborate with project management to resolve technical and logistical challenges.QualificationsMinimum 8–10 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or institutional construction.Experience working on healthcare, hospital, or complex institutional projects is highly preferred.Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics.Excellent leadership and subcontractor coordination skills.Strong knowledge of Ontario health & safety regulations .Education & CertificationsDiploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.Health & Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Working at Heights, and First Aid preferred.What’s OfferedLong-term 4-year project stability .Opportunity to work on a major healthcare development in the Hamilton area.Competitive compensation package based on experience.
