The Peter Gilgan Centre for Early Cancer Detection Research is one of the most ambitious early cancer detection research initiatives globally. This investigator-initiated program will develop and validate technologies for early cancer detection and molecular residual disease (MRD) monitoring, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes through earlier diagnosis and intervention. This position will support Pillar 3 which focuses on clinical deployment. We are seeking an energetic, passionate, and patient-oriented Clinical Research Study Assistant (CRSA) who enjoys working in a fast paced clinical research environment. This role requires research and/or patient facing clinical experience.Duties:
- Recruit participants (e.g. identify potential participants, obtain informed consent, collect demographic)
- Enroll participants to the study
- Help to guide patients to attend all blood draws as scheduled
- Monitor for returning test results and work with the Clinical Nurse Specialist to discuss and document test results to the patient, study team, and care team
- Attend to questions and queries regarding the program by email and in-person
- Following established procedures & guidelines and comply with applicable regulations
- Work with the Clinical Nurse Specialist on publications, presentations, and patient education materials
- Bachelor's Degree in health or science related discipline, will consider degree in progress
- Knowledge of Research regulations and guidelines (such as ICH/GCP, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki, FDR, CFR and Health Canada TPD as required)
- Strong communication, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office software
