The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Mine Maintenance Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Manager or designate, this role is responsible for the mobile equipment maintenance at a new start-up mine, which will ramp up to a 200,000-tonne-per-day open-pit operation. The role is accountable for meeting expected equipment performance and mechanical equipment availability targets.This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario, on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation.Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee site-wide mobile maintenance activities to support the ramp-up of a new open-pit mine to 200,000 ex-pit tonnes per day.
  • Develop and communicate long-term maintenance objectives.
  • Establish metrics to track and manage performance.
  • Develop and execute an effective asset management plan through the extensive use of data analytics, machine health monitoring, and technical expertise.
  • Establish a clear plan to meet personnel requirements on time, including appropriate onboarding and training.
  • Promote and maintain a safe workplace with a target of zero harm. Ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and equipment.
  • Lead by example in promoting Greenstone Mine values.
  • Collaborate with mine operations and engineering personnel to oversee site mobile maintenance needs as required.
  • Develop and execute business plans and budgets.
Required Experience and Skill Set
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning and SAP maintenance modules.
  • Expertise in open-pit mining maintenance practices and repair.
  • Advanced knowledge of haul trucks and hydraulic shovels in an open-pit environment.
  • 10+ years of work experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience in a similar role, preferably in an open-pit setting.
