- Structure determination of target molecules in our large molecule and small molecule programs primarily using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). Experience in X-ray crystallography is a plus.
- Work closely with computational biologists and protein biochemists in the protein biochemistry group and protein design group.
- Collaborate with teams across various functions in the Therapeutic Discovery Research organization including Biologic Discovery, Discovery Protein Science, and Digital Biologics Discovery, to develop strategies toward therapeutic protein de-immunization.
- Participate deeply in the structural biology projects related to immunogenicity.
- Ph.D. with a deep understanding of structural biology and general biochemistry.
- Significant graduate research experience in large macromolecular complex structure determination. Knowledge of state-of-the-art protein structural biology techniques including all aspects of construct design, expression, purification, characterization, structure determination and analysis.
- Expertise on cryo-EM single particle analysis to determine atomic resolution structures.
- Excellent presentation skills (written and oral) for effective team-based communication of results.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within timelines and to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Skills in managing multiple projects and capability to prioritize.
- Experience with immune biology and molecular basis of immunogenicity.
- Experience with innovative method development in protein biochemistry including protein rigidification, protein folding and TEM grid substrate derivatization, etc.
- Experience with other protein biochemical and/or biophysical characterization of protein complexes.
