- Work closely with the Senior Division Manager and branch level and regional leaders to achieve operational excellence through collaboration and resources sharing across the region and company.
- Build a strong, cohesive, team culture that incorporates and prioritizes our shared commitment to safety, project management excellence, and client satisfaction.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and manage performance to develop and retain top talent.
- Oversee diverse multi-disciplinary projects; envision, manage technical, logistical, and financial aspects, and carry out design from proposal stage through to commissioning
- Lead operations for the division including building relationships with key clients, business development, workload, staffing, equipment, safety, quality, and financial outcomes.
- Assist the Branch Manager in developing and executing branch strategic plans and budgets.
- Represent McElhanney to the external environment including clients, business partners, community organizations and professional associations to enhance McElhanney’s positive public profile.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 15+ years of municipal engineering experience, ideally in Alberta or Western Canada.
- Registration as a P.Eng. with APEGA (or eligibility for registration).
- Strong technical background in municipal servicing design and familiarity with local standards (City of Edmonton and surrounding municipalities).
- Proven experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- A passion for mentoring and developing engineering staff.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to conduct occasional field work
