
Specialty Sales Representative

- Manages the day-to-day activities of inventory liquidation process for assigned region(s).
- Sell all short-coded product, #2’s, residuals and plant failures at the best return for MLF.
- Actively engages with customers to strengthen relationships and grow profitable sales, ensures MLF selling and re-packing guidelines are in place and adhered to, sources new customers and sales channels.
- Performs order management activities and identifies any gaps or opportunities to improve current processes.
- Investigates inventory discrepancies and works to identify root cause to help eliminate further occurrences.
- Analyzes current inventory levels to identify risks, root cause, and works to proactively mitigate further risks.
- Analyzes customer specific private label inventory levels and works directly with the cross functional teams to proactively manage to reduce further distressed risks.
- Provides guidance on pricing as part of the inventory liquidation strategy.
- Identifies and supports new sku development opportunities for all #2 and residuals products.
- Accurate Sales reporting, sales forecasting, and data management.
- Performs back-up support as required within the Specialty Sales Team.
- Produces various reports that are used to manage the Specialty Sales activities and to report/track KPI’s.
- Identifies and participates in cost savings strategies and supports cost avoidances initiatives.
- Provides training and knowledge transfer within Maple Leaf Foods as required.
- Other activities as required.
- Occasional travel is required.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the CPG industry.
- Previous experience in Sales, Marketing, Purchasing or Customer Service.
- Experience in Supply Chain and Distribution an asset.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen, negotiating and selling skills
- Knowledge in inventory planning and management
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- Strong change management skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment across multiple Business Units
