- In partnership with Leadership, support the establishment of our Canadian Commercial Construction Practice.
- Assessing and underwriting risk for construction-related accounts to ensure the profitability and sustainability of the portfolio.
- Managing and monitoring existing accounts, providing detailed analysis and reporting on underwriting performance.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and refine underwriting guidelines and policies.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards in the underwriting process.
- Drive brand awareness and affinity by providing thought leadership and insight into emerging risks, trends, and opportunities to the marketplace and brokers.
- Research competitors and market conditions to develop and maintain risk selection criteria and methods that support sound underwriting risk management.
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, including brokers, agents, and reinsurers.
- Monitor underwriting performance and provide regular reports, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective action when necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments, including actuarial, claims, and finance, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to underwriting.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Direct technical underwriting background in the Constitution space across Middle Market and Risk Management segments
- Direct background underwriting a portfolio of Construction Risks across Master and Project solutions targeting Civil Infrastructure, Traditional Energy, and Renewable Energy sectors
- Direct success establishing and expanding retail distribution relationships.
- Market awareness of current state dynamics and complexities, and how the macro environment can be synthesized into the AXIS strategy.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
