Fundraising Lead: GrantsAbout INKspireINKspire is a non-profit organization that strives to empower youth voices. We provide a curated web platform where young people can share their ideas and perspectives on various relevant and contemporary issues across Canada and around the world. We also empower youth through our various programs that provide mentorship, knowledge and develop skills that are relevant for the industry.Volunteer DescriptionINKspire is looking for passionate, well-informed youth interested in becoming a fundamental member of the Fundraising team. This particular department collaborates with various departments at INKspire to develop grant applications and secure funding for ongoing and future initiatives/programs.As a part of the team, you will report to the Director of Fundraising and assist in organizing, planning and writing grant applications. A Fundraising Lead in charge of managing grant proposals occupies a specialized and crucial position within an organization's fundraising or development department. This role primarily focuses on securing grant funding from foundations, government entities, and other grant-making organizations.Roles/Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):Proposal Management and Writing
  • Lead and manage the process of writing compelling grant proposals, ensuring compliance with requirements and deadlines.
  • Write, edit and review grant proposals,
  • Collaborate with different departments at INKspire to gather accurate information for use in applications.
  • Prepare and develop realistic work plans and budgets for grant proposals.
Research and development
  • Assist the Director of fundraising in developing and implementing a grant-seeking strategy
  • Attend team meetings to assist in the improvement and development of new programs
  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities in alignment with INKspires mission and objectives.
Evaluation and improvement
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of grant seeking activities and implement improvements
  • Stay informed about grant writing and the philanthropic sector to enhance strategies.
Leadership and team development
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the fundraising team, setting clear goals and expectations
Qualifications:
  • Strong writing, editing, and review skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Experience managing, planning proposals is an asset
  • Experience managing a team is an asset
  • Experience developing budgets and work plans is an asset
  • Able to research, interpret and use data to develop a persuasive grant application
  • A desire to learn and grow with the position.
  • Eager to be part of a team in a growing youth non-profit organization
Time Commitment
  • Flexible hours, approx. 4-6 hours/week Volunteer must be able to commit to the position for a minimum of 6 months
  • Available in the evening at least once a week for team meetings
Location
  • Work from home / remote work
  • Volunteer must be located in Canada
  • Writing/editing samples are required.
