Accountant

• Full cycle accounting for multiple companies including management of the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

• Review and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including preparation of adjusting journal entries.

• Assist with, or complete, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.

• Complete bank deposits and prepare cheque runs and intercompany account transfers.

• Complete bank reconciliations.

• Assist with bank account analysis to inform cash management decisions.

• Prepare staff expense reports.

• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards.

• Assist with project and corporate-level financial reporting and budgeting.

• Submit tax filings, including GST.

• Review monthly financial information provided by managers, investigate discrepancies, and prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.

• Assist with annual audit process.

• Assist with the implementation of Yardi Voyager from Yardi Breeze accounting software to optimize usability across the organization.

• Participate in ad-hoc projects and special assignments as needed.

• 2+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting role.

• Experience in property management, real estate, or investment companies is considered an asset.

• Proficiency in accounting ERP systems (Yardi experience is considered an asset) and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.

• Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Working towards CPA designation is an asset.
