Join a team of inspired and talented professionals who continually find inventive ways to get the job done better, faster, and smarter.Your Key ResponsibilitiesPerforming a variety of surveys and buried facility locating with minimal supervisionConducting comprehensive topographic, legal, construction, bathymetric and as-built surveysActively participate and promote Stantec’s Health & Safety culture and awarenessEffective communication with Project Manager as to progress updates, scope changes, HSSE reporting and other project impactsAct as a company representative, liaising directly with client field representatives and land owners;Some office technical survey work may be required in this positionStrong problem solving skills in a field environment;Effective communication skills - verbal and written; ability to produce accurate and legible field notes;Manage information flow from field to office and prepare clear, concise, and accurate field notes, records, and calculationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperience tracing buried facilities using Electromagnetic Locating techniquesAbility to execute surveys in an accurate, efficient, detailed and safe mannerProficiency with GPS, Total stations and Electromagnetic Locators. Working knowledge of Trimble GPS and Trimble Total Stations is an assetA valid Alberta Class 5 Vehicle Operator’s LicenseExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsThis position may require travelling to various sites across CanadaExperience working in remote field environmentsPhysical ability to work in mountainous and forested terrain and ability to lift/carry heavy equipment.Willing to work in various environmental conditions with varied terrain, able to work in wildlife populated areas, and willing to work in remote field areas for extended periods and varied hoursEducation and ExperienceTechnical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.A minimum of 5 years of field survey experienceRequired Certifications (must have or be able to complete the following):Standard First AidH2S AliveWHMISCSTS 2020 (Construction Safety Training System)CSO (Common Safety Orientation)Line Locating CertificationValid Driver’s LicenseThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting.
