This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.Aon is in the business of better decisionsAt Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What Your Day Will Look LikeAs an Institutional Portfolio Manager, our colleague will report directly to the Canadian Chief Investment Officer and be primarily responsible for leading delegated client portfolios across Canada.While no two days are the same, a typical day could be composed of a selection of tasks and responsibilities such as:
  • Handling client portfolios, using Aon Pooled Funds, third-party investment managers, and/or other investment vehicles for which Aon provides discretionary portfolio strategic direction
  • Daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly review and sign-off on client trades and calculations
  • Maintaining strategic and tactical allocations within each portfolio
  • Managing portfolio characteristics to ensure consistency with objectives and guidelines
  • Acting as main point of contact for client on-boarding, portfolio transitions and implementation; addressing prospect and client questions, participating in the RFP process, client update meetings and/or other ad-hoc projects and presentations

Curiosity about, and interest in, operational excellence will be key to success in this role.Our new Portfolio Manager will collaborate cross-functionally and gain exposure to a wide variety of internal and external partners.Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success:We are looking for someone who brings a blend of education and experience, allowing them to quickly make valuable contributions to clients through analysis, creative problem solving and consultancy. Ideally, they have more than 5 years of progressive experience in an investment management environment, working in particular with institutional clients, including experience with portfolio management and in particular managing funds of funds. This role also requires knowledge of Canadian pension funds and a strong understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets. Our new colleague has problem-solving, analytical decision-making, and problem-solving skills in developing solutions for sophisticated clients/business issues.Education:Our ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, Mathematics or a related field.Due to the nature of the work, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is required.In addition, our colleague must be currently or recently registered as an “Associate Advising Representative” or "Advising Representative".How we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.
