With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy.About the role.McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking General Labourers to join our Prepared Foods facility in Florenceville – Bristol, NB. Selected candidates will be trained in multiple areas within the plant. Please note, this position is physically demanding and requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, Monday to Friday—two weeks on days, followed by two weeks on nights.This position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic, and noisy environment that demands a high level of alertness and adaptability. The role involves regular walking, standing, bending, and lifting items up to 35 to 40lbs. Applicants should be comfortable working amid substantial sensory input and able to maintain focus and productivity during extended shifts.The ideal candidate will be dependable, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team in a busy manufacturing environment.What you’ll be doing.
  • Responsible for following all safety requirements. Follow JHA’s and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)
  • Interpret mixing formulas - Weighing, Mixing and blending of ingredients to recipe.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation of equipment. Maintaining a neat work area; daily housekeeping report of the area
  • Responsible for identification and reporting of product quality issues.
  • Operates all the equipment associated with the job assigned to
  • Documentation of ingredient codes, ingredient temperatures and tracking of finished product
  • Responsible for timing out ingredients to ensure shift completion or change over.
  • Responsible for following change over policy and requirements.
  • Responsible for some sanitation duties
  • Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required.
  • Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s) and Critical Control Points (CCP’s).
  • Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s.
  • Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
What you’ll need to be successful.
  • Grade 12 education or GED required
  • Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
  • Knowledge of computer operations an asset
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift approximately 35-40 lbs. on a continuous basis
  • Ability to learn and function within different jobs in the plant
  • Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
  • Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly
  • Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operations
  • Successful completion of 90-day training period
