SVP – INSURANCE MANAGEMENT – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR303About this opportunityOur client is a boutique, technology-driven (re)insurance service provider that specializes in high-efficiency operational solutions for the global market. Recognized for its independent and innovative approach, the firm serves as a strategic partner to insurance entities, prioritizing bespoke client strategies and sustainable growth. We are currently seeking an SVP of Insurance Management to join their leadership team in Bermuda.Your responsibilities:
  • Oversee the overall management and regulatory compliance of a portfolio of re/insurance management clients
  • Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of insurance management clients
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Support the internal teams on complex transactions by providing insight and recommendations on vehicle formation
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration, accounting function, regulatory reporting and all other required filings and reporting, for all classes of re/insurance entities
  • Provide advice to clients and deliver customized service to suit individual needs
  • Manage and build relationships with internal and external service providers
  • Prepare monthly / quarterly financial reporting, as required
  • Conduct peer review for the internal team
  • Lead the annual GAAP / IFRS audits for re/insurance vehicles
  • Complete the applicable statutory filings
  • Drive operational efficiencies within the team and make recommendations on improvements
  • Work with Business Development team to promote the business
  • Contribute to tech improvement initiatives
  • Promote a positive work environment and contribute to continuous improvements, collaboration and innovation and other task as requested by senior management
What you'll need
  • At least 10 years of experience in the re/insurance industry in Bermuda
  • CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Reinsurance qualifications is preferred
  • Knowledgeable and efficient in risk and insurance accounting (US GAAP and IFRS)
  • Strong understanding of the Bermuda insurance regulatory framework and requirements, particularly as it applies to commercial reinsurance vehicles
  • Proven experience in preparing and submitting BSCR filings
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet strict deadlines
  • Creative problem-solving skills and solution oriented
  • Detail oriented accounting professional with strong IT proficiency, capable leveraging technology to streamline financial reporting and drive innovation
  • Strong ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to administer complex/insurance structures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Skilled in accounting software such as SUN or Oracle
  • Comfortable working with cloud-based financial platforms and digital document management systems
