- Oversee the overall management and regulatory compliance of a portfolio of re/insurance management clients
- Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of insurance management clients
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Support the internal teams on complex transactions by providing insight and recommendations on vehicle formation
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration, accounting function, regulatory reporting and all other required filings and reporting, for all classes of re/insurance entities
- Provide advice to clients and deliver customized service to suit individual needs
- Manage and build relationships with internal and external service providers
- Prepare monthly / quarterly financial reporting, as required
- Conduct peer review for the internal team
- Lead the annual GAAP / IFRS audits for re/insurance vehicles
- Complete the applicable statutory filings
- Drive operational efficiencies within the team and make recommendations on improvements
- Work with Business Development team to promote the business
- Contribute to tech improvement initiatives
- Promote a positive work environment and contribute to continuous improvements, collaboration and innovation and other task as requested by senior management
- At least 10 years of experience in the re/insurance industry in Bermuda
- CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent professional qualifications
- Reinsurance qualifications is preferred
- Knowledgeable and efficient in risk and insurance accounting (US GAAP and IFRS)
- Strong understanding of the Bermuda insurance regulatory framework and requirements, particularly as it applies to commercial reinsurance vehicles
- Proven experience in preparing and submitting BSCR filings
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet strict deadlines
- Creative problem-solving skills and solution oriented
- Detail oriented accounting professional with strong IT proficiency, capable leveraging technology to streamline financial reporting and drive innovation
- Strong ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to administer complex/insurance structures
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products
- Skilled in accounting software such as SUN or Oracle
- Comfortable working with cloud-based financial platforms and digital document management systems
