Construction Project Manager, High Voltage Electrical | Electrical Contractor | Nanaimo, BC - MyGreat Recruitment

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in the contracting industry (excluding oil and gas)
• Hands-on background in the trades with strong knowledge of field production environments
• Proven track record managing electrical construction projects in transmission, distribution, or energy generation
• Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain detailed project schedules using industry tools
• Strong skills in contract administration including drafting, review, and negotiation
• Real-time cost control and revenue management experience
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, particularly under challenging conditions
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

• Experience overseeing large-scale procurement strategies and material tracking systems
• Exposure to unionized work environments and labor management
• Familiarity with construction risk management and mitigation practices
• Training or certification in Lean, PMP, or similar methodologies
• Prior experience working on remote or logistically complex job sites

• Oversee full project lifecycle from award through to close-out, ensuring safe, timely, and profitable delivery
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with clear milestones and accountability checkpoints
• Manage financial performance including forecasting, budgeting, and cost tracking
• Coordinate subcontractors and internal teams, enforcing project plans and timelines
• Draft, review, and manage contracts, submittals, RFIs, and meeting documentation
• Lead procurement processes, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services
• Proactively identify and manage scope changes to ensure alignment with cost and schedule objectives
• Resolve project issues and client concerns with professionalism and clarity
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure continued partnership and repeat business
• Mentor and lead project teams to foster a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration
