Significant* and recent** experience as a subject matter expert working with Controlled Goods in a federal government context.
Significant* experience working directly with Controlled Goods compliance program, its application including inspections.
Significant* experience in a role requiring communication and collaboration with individuals across multiple levels of the organization.
Experience in the application of security concepts and standards in accordance with the Policy on Government Security.
Previous experience with the Department of National Defence and/or the Controlled Goods Directorate would be an asset.

Advanced knowledge of the Policy on Government Security, Defence Production Act, and requirements of the Controlled Goods Directive including authorized access, training, inspection, inventory management and Security Plans.
Solid working knowledge of Controlled Goods related acts, regulations and agreements including but not limited to the Canadian exemption under US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Technical Assistance Agreements.
Solid knowledge of security controls (both IT and physical) and standards associated with the protection of information, assets and CG/ITAR materiel.
Solid knowledge of security operations in a CG/ITAR environment within a federal government context including processes and standards for demilitarization, transfer and security breach management.
Solid knowledge of the application of compliance program concepts including inspections.
Solid understanding of Research Security within the context of the Government of Canada.
