
Civil Municipal Engineering Lead

- Lead and manage projects and project teams through all phases of project planning, design, construction and commissioning of Municipal projects
- Prepare and/or supervise engineering studies, environmental assessments, reports, calculations, plans and contract documents for water and wastewater related projects.
- Produce cost estimates and construction specifications independently working with project staff
- Lead and/or assist in the pursuit of new projects involving request for proposals with clients, including technical writing and proposal development and production
- Build relationships with existing and potential clients in effort to grow the local water and wastewater practice
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic planning of the BC Infrastructure Group
- Manage project resources, schedule, budget, quality management and project risk assessment on behalf of CIMA+ to meet client expectations individually and independently
- Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, project stakeholders, and contractors
- Lead and mentor intermediate and junior staff on fundamentals of detail design of linear work and general project management skills. Training and development of junior staff is critical in this role
- Work on projects in remote locations from Vancouver Office (no relocation required) and assist other offices across Canada in delivering large projects
- Ability to break projects down into tasks and sequences to ensure project delivery within established scope, schedule and budget
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institute
- Registered (or eligible to register as) member of the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC)
- 7+ years of experience working with local municipal clients leading civil projects including sewage, drainage and road curves
- Strong understanding of impacts from civil works, such as impacts to traffic, adjacent infrastructure, the public is an asset
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication of project plans and presentations
