
Tax Manager

- Oversee corporate tax compliance for both U.S. and Canada, including federal, state/provincial, and local filings
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax, sales tax (GST/HST/PST/VAT), and other indirect taxes
- Manage quarterly and annual tax provision calculations under US GAAP and IFRS
- Maintain compliance with transfer pricing regulations and prepare required documentation
- Coordination of SR&ED filings
- Support accurate tax reporting and compliance related to withholding tax and intercompany distributions
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to optimize the company's global tax position
- Identify and mitigate cross-border tax risks, including permanent establishment exposure
- Advise on tax implications of business operations, M&A, restructurings, and new market entry
- Monitor U.S. and Canadian tax law changes and assess business impact
- Lead responses to tax audits and inquiries from CRA, IRS, and other authorities
- Maintain strong internal controls over tax compliance and financial reproting
- Partner with legal, accounting, and finance to proactively mange tax risk
- Advise internal stakeholders on payroll tax, sales tax, international tax, and other operational matters
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure compliance and alignment with best practices
- Collaborate with country subsidiaries on accurate tax reporting and compliance
- Support implementation of tax technology or automation solutions where applicable
- Other duties as required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field
- CPA designation (U.S. or Canada) is required
- 8+ years of progressive experience in U.S. and Canadian corporate tax
- Hands-on experience with transfer pricing, cross-border structuring, and indirect taxes
- Prior experience with SR&ED claims is an asset
- Experience with ERPs (NetSuite experience an asset)
- Experience in dealing with multiple currencies
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS tax reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain tax issues to non-tax stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
