- Provides market information and cash grain bids to patrons and establishes marketing plans for branch customers.
- Works to establish the company as the first choice in value-added grain marketing.
- Uses target marketing, segmentation and market analysis to facilitate origination to support customers and grow market share.
- Acquires new business through regular contact with current and prospective customers.
- Works with carriers, customers and facility personnel to set the time and location of on-farm pickup and field pick-up purchases.
- Provides ongoing market information and feedback to Location Manager, Grain Merchandiser, Grain Origination Specialist, Zone Grain Originator and Grain Origination and Business Development Team Lead for the purpose of developing effective procurement plans.
- Purchases grain deliveries into company facilities and direct delivery markets. Completes all administrative functions related to these purchases including contracts, settlements and effectively using proprietary programs to document customer information.
- Works closely with the branch team to support the marketing, customer experience and advisory sales efforts of the company through information on prospects, problems and opportunities.
- Grades different classes of grain and operates scale functions for shipping and receiving.
- Understands and follow all health and safety, environment policies and procedures.
- You have a college diploma or university degree in agriculture/business or related field or 3 or more years of related experience.
- You demonstrate well-rounded knowledge of relevant commodities (corn, soybeans, and wheat).
- You have a strong understanding of the Grain Market, including: marketing strategy, grain risk management; market information, conditions and trends; price strategy, branding, promotions, industry relations, policies and procedures, compliance and communications.
- You possess working knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
- You have the proven ability to build credibility, rapport and professional relationships, assess business opportunities, and negotiate appropriate agreements with customers.
- You possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and interact in an articulate and professional manner with staff and customers.
