Committed to making a positive contribution to the communities and regions they operate in, their market has grown to include all of North America and they export product all over the world.The Shaw Group is looking for a senior level, experienced leader with upward potential mobility to take the role of VP of Operations and join their team in New Brunswick. This role is targeted to be part of a succession plan to broader leadership within the organization.Role DescriptionThe VP of Operations is responsible for the overall strategy of the operations in Shaw's facilities. This will include business planning, operations planning, oversight for P&L of plants, supply strategy and execution, along with overall leadership for the team. Working with an international customer base, you will target areas in which to profitably grow the business.In addition, you will be responsible to:
- Lead the plant to world class results in the areas of Safety, Maintenance, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People engagement and development
- Understand the customers' needs to align them with the operations of the plant
- Maximize efficiencies and results
- Mentor and develop competencies in the team that lead to improved performance in their current role and their potential preparation for future roles
With at least 10 years of operations experience, you couple your leadership capabilities with your ability to motivate people. You are resourceful and make the workplace more efficient, safely maximizing output. Your mechanical aptitude helps you find creative solutions to technical problems. In addition, you develop improvement ideas and present these ideas in a way that gains buy-in from a variety of stakeholders.Your qualifications include:
- Post-secondary education
- 10+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
- A track record of achieving world class results and growing your business
- A proven history of successfully collaborating with other team members
- Experience collaborating with various areas within an organization and with staff at all levels of an organization
- Lean experience is considered an asset
