Provide systems administration support on Linux-based systems, for the Air Force DCGS Experimental enclave (DGS-X), Langley AFB, VA. Non-daytime shiftwork required.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform system checks and preventative updates
- Support TEMs to provide technical expertise to teams and provide meeting minutes
- Configure Yellowdog Update Manager to install and test Linux patches
- Perform installation of SW as defined by RFCs and TCTOs
- Review and redline configuration files and documentation as required
- Maintain Puppet and Satellite servers to facilitate automated deployment of Linux Virtual Machines (VMs)
- Work with OEM engineers to resolve elevated system issues, identify risks and execute remediation procedures. Document these fixes by updating procedures and authoring Knowledge articles that can be used by the enterprise.
- Two years experience performing core systems administration on Linux-based systems
- DoD 8570 certified, IAT Level II
- Practical experience using command line interface and performing troubleshooting on high numbers of systems, and different versions of RHEL (e.g., Puppet / YUM / Monitoring Servers / Satellite / Kickstart).
- Familiar with some type of scripting language, able to read and understand what it is performing
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Project strong customer focus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Top Secret/SCI
