As an Intern reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you'll be integrated into the Mine Engineering Department and collaborate closely with other Departments of the operation. Your role will involve ensuring the achievement of set goals and objectives while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental values.Participate in daily activities with the Engineering team, including data compilation, validation, and preparation of daily production reports.Conduct regular underground surveys of development headings; install laser and survey stations.Create and update various CAD drawings, primarily related to lateral development, ground support, and construction.Perform ventilation surveys and assist in preparing related reports.Support the short-term planning lead with planning-related tasks.Contribute to special projects aligned with the intern’s skills and interests.QualificationsWhat You Need To Succeed:Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mine Engineering.Working knowledge of Deswik software is beneficial.Previous experience in underground mining is advantageous.Experience working in a multicultural environment is beneficial.Proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport within teams.English is the official working language at Hope Bay MineYour Work Schedule:Schedule: 21 days of work in Nunavut, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kitikmeot region or Edmonton, Alberta.Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
