Skate Patrol (Part-Time)

- Greet all patrons in a welcoming and friendly manner, maintain a positive attitude and communicate with the public regarding skating schedules, facility policies and regulations
- Checking for proper admission to ice
- Model proper and safe skating etiquette, including controlling the flow and speed of skaters
- Wear proper protective equipment- skates, CSA approved helmet, and provided high visibility vest
- Make ice sledges available for public use if required (move in and out of storage when needed)
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and adhere to all City of Guelph and facility service standards and policies
- Ensuring proper documentation is completed for all accidents and incidents
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong skating skills and knowledge of safe on ice practices
- Strong verbal skills to resolve and address any on ice issues
- Ability to stand/skate for extended periods of time in a cold environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and organizational skills
- Standard First Aid with CPR C
- A satisfactory Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check is required at time of offer
- Ability to provide own skates and helmet
- Must be minimum 16 years of age
