Grow with us, H2O+U.Stantec’s Water team based in Burnaby is looking for a highly motivated Civil/Structural Engineer-In-Training. This opportunity is full-time, on-site at the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant.ResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day Field Services tasks on behalf of the Owner, including construction administration related processes and document controls through Tender, Construction and Post-Construction services.Coordinate with design disciplines to complete delegated professional services during construction phase including coordination and scheduling of field review and reports, and processing of RFIs, site instructions, change orders, shop drawings, submittals, progress claims, deficiency lists, commissioning participation, closeout documentation, warranty period documentation.Review submittals for consistency with design intent, building code compliance, and constructability, and coordinate reviews with the Owner and Engineer teams.Conduct regular site observations to monitor construction progress, document field observations, and identify potential non-conformances.Coordinate with design professionals, subconsultants, clients, contractors, authorities, field staff, and other stakeholders.Track construction progress and contribute to clear, timely reporting.Contribute to a “safety first" work environment in compliance with Stantec’s health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures.As the Owner’s representative, ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with the Engineer and ContractorStrong interest in learning about applicable building codes, concrete placement means and methods, materials, and industry standards.General understanding of design drawings and specifications.Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the project team, obtaining and sharing necessary information.Strong organizational skills and understanding of task assignments and schedule.Experience with heavy civil construction would be an asset.Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or related field.2-6 years of experience that includes constructionEngineer-in-Training or Licensed Professional Engineer (EGBC)Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$78,900.00 - $114,400.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
