Technical Sales RepresentativeOur client is seeking a driven and technically skilled Technical Sales Representative to join their team in Calgary. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with industrial clients, distributors, and engineering firms to promote and sell a broad range of flow control and process solutions. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong communication and sales abilities to deliver customized solutions that enhance operational performance across various industries.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with industrial clients, distributors, and engineering firms involved in project planning and specification
  • Actively seek new sales opportunities through outreach methods such as networking, referrals, and cold calls
  • Deliver informative product presentations and technical demonstrations to showcase the value and application of solutions like valves, hoses, expansion joints, and steam traps
  • Work closely with internal engineering and technical teams to create customized solutions that meet client-specific needs
  • Generate accurate quotes and proposals, and follow up to successfully close sales
  • Stay informed about market trends, product innovations, and competitor activities
  • Keep CRM systems up to date with client interactions, sales activities, and forecasts
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer training sessions
Your strengths include:
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical sales, ideally within industrial, mechanical, or process-related sectors
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, technology, or a related technical field (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Solid understanding of distribution networks and engineering procurement processes
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally within Calgary and nearby regions
