As a technical leader, you will emphasize technical excellence, work closely with the design team and provide the necessary technical leadership required to deliver projects that satisfy client expectations. You will be a champion of quality and provide regular feedback to the team on areas of improvement. Your Key ResponsibilitiesDesign infrastructure for power utilities to meet project requirementsDevelop design solutions that meet all applicable codes, standards and regulationsLead technical design discussions, internally and externally, to ensure scope objectives are metReview and authenticate drawings for power distribution projectsProvide construction supportSupport development of proposals, project cost estimates and project schedulesManage external client relationships through effective and timely communicationIdentify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate actionProvide coaching and guidance to project team membersProvide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultantsTravel and perform site visits as required ""Your Capabilities and Credentials- Registered P.Eng in CanadaDemonstrated technical proficiency in utility infrastructure designEffective Interpersonal Skills – Strong Written and Verbal skills are a must, to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliersAble to work effectively both independently under minimal supervision, and as a member of a team in a multi-disciplinary environmentStrong time management and prioritization skillsDemonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work and complete work within given timelinesPLSCAD or SPIDAcalc knowledge would be an assetValid Class 5 Driver’s License Education and ExperienceBachelor Degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 8 years of experience designing power utility infrastructure within North America Typical office environment working with computers; Stantec offers a flexible work environment (a hybrid model of working in the office and at home).
