- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight for the road construction department.
- Manage planning and execution of road construction projects to ensure safety, quality, and budget compliance.
- Supervise and mentor Project Managers; maintain alignment between office and field operations.
- Monitor project performance, budgets, and timelines; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain client relationships; identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Represent the company in industry meetings and community events.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) preferred.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in construction, preferably road construction.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, QA/QC testing, and OHS/environmental regulations.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office. Experience with Bid to Win is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites.
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various construction processes.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
- Ability to manage coordination efforts in construction projects with various parties, such as architects, project engineers, and landscaping installers.
