- Execute, monitor and control each project until its completion:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders with respect to the maintenance execution function on the ships;
- Supervising (planning, organizing, leading and controlling) the Thales personnel and subcontractors to achieve agreed outcomes within their delegated authorities and responsibilities;
- Responsible for coordinating and conducting all required activities prior to the commencement of maintenance execution. This involves subcontractor kick off meetings, authorization of purchase requisitions and issue of purchase orders;
- Oversee all maintenance execution activities for designated maintenance periods to ensure material readiness objectives for the platforms are being achieved;
- Provide whole ship project management support to the Coastal Ship Maintenance Team Lead as required to meet the availability standard and to meet the Full Mission Capability under the awarded ISS Contract(s);
- Manage the conduct of maintenance and /or Ad-Hoc tasking’s during designated maintenance work periods within agreed scheduled time frames;
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for cohesiveness, support, and working effectively together enabling each employee and the department to succeed.
- Comply with and ensure compliance of others to all relevant HS&E legislative requirements, policies, procedures and framework. Promote Thales’s Health, Safety and Environmental programs by demonstrating HS&E Leadership in a professional and supportive manner; and Interact and work with management/employees to promote teamwork, by effectively communicating with all levels of staff via staff meetings, written communications and one-on-one communication.
- Minimum of 4 years demonstrated technical experience in the last 10 years, managing projects and teams preferably in the ship/dockyard and Naval environments.
- Possess a minimum 3-Year Technical Program diploma offered by a recognized technical institute or certified as a technologist by a recognized provincial, state, or federal (national) licensing body in a relevant field or certified to the QL-6B level or RQ-PO1 of military technical training.
- Experience in the supervision of teams undertaking maintenance activities.
- Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft products especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential.
- Experience interfacing between various internal/external stakeholders within a project.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Predominantly office work but will be required to occasionally travel to and work in dockyards and onboard Naval ships
- May be required to undertake inspections on Naval ships which may involve involving bending and twisting, and working aloft
- Office or onboard Naval ships alongside in harbor, or at sea, therefore must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards
- Access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel may be required in support of the ships
