This is a full-time, permanent Accountant position supporting a busy and structured finance function. The role is well-suited for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to build strong foundational experience across reconciliations, month-end, and general ledger activities.You'll be joining a close-knit team with strong mentorship, exposure to a variety of accounting processes, and support toward professional development (including CPA).Responsibilities
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across financial records
- Prepare and post journal entries (daily, monthly, and annual)
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain and support general ledger activities
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions
- Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and up to date
- Assist with trust accounting processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and proper handling of client funds
- Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects as directed by the Controller
- 2-3 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of Canadian accounting principles
- Working toward a CPA designation (or interest in pursuing) is an asset, but not essential
- Trust accounting exposure is considered a huge asset for this role
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
- Flexible working hours
