
Water Resources Engineer

- Involvement in a variety of project phases including planning, design, tendering, and construction.
- Site visits to assess project sites, carry out construction field reviews, or complete emergency flood response services.
- Hydrological analysis and watershed modelling.
- Assessment of climate change impacts to support planning and design of infrastructure.
- Hydraulic analysis and modelling of creeks/rivers/channels, culverts, bridges, and water management structures.
- Hydraulic analysis and modelling of drainage and stormwater systems.
- Statistical analysis of hydrometeorological datasets.
- Mapping and spatial analysis of GIS data.
- Hydrotechnical design of water management infrastructure and flood protection systems such as dikes, bank erosion/scour protection, shoreline erosion protection, inlet/outlet structures, spillway channels, culverts, bridges, weirs, sediment basins, and wetlands.
- Technical writing and preparation of client deliverables.
- Project coordination and management.
- Proposal preparation.
- Meeting project requirements in a timely and effective manner.
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or applied sciences from an accredited university. A graduate degree and/or a water resources focus in your educational background will be considered an asset.
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Experience analyzing and designing a variety of solutions for water resources projects.
- Experience using water resources software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-SSP, R , Raven, and PCSWMM.
- Experience in GIS and spatial analysis software such as QGIS, Manifold, or ArcGIS.
- Ability to work in both collaborative team environments and independently.
- Highly self motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.
