ADM Milling Co. is seeking a quality control lab technician (Operator 1) to perform testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role ensures products meet quality standards, maintains accurate records, troubleshoots issues, and communicates results. When not in the lab, you'll support mill sanitation. Reports to the Quality & Food Safety Manager.Key Responsibilities
- Perform lab testing on wheat, flour, and bakery mixes
- Record, analyze, and report test results; monitor trends
- Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, GMP, and environmental standards
- Investigate non-conformances and support corrective actions
- Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and documentation
- Communicate quality issues and support continuous improvement
- Assist with sanitation duties when not in the lab
- Post-secondary education (food science preferred)
- Lab testing experience (e.g., AACC methods, Farinograph, NIR) an asset
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety systems
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- MS Office proficiency; ability to work independently and in teams
- Leadership or lead-hand experience preferred
- Able to work overtime/weekends as needed
- Physically capable (standing, lifting, climbing, confined spaces, varying temperatures)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
