Job Title: Intermediate Technical Specialist – Maintenance ProgramsLocation: 1675 Montgomery Park Road (Hybrid – 2 days remote)Job OverviewOntario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking an Intermediate Technical Specialist – Maintenance Programs to support the development and execution of maintenance strategies that ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant systems and equipment. This role will assist in advancing human performance, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance practices, while contributing to long-term business planning and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the development, implementation, and monitoring of maintenance strategies and work programs, including predictive, preventive, and corrective activities.Contribute to business planning, including cost tracking, reporting, staffing forecasts, and performance analysis.Act as the single point of contact for assigned work scopes; monitor progress, resolve issues, and provide regular status reports.Assess the effectiveness of divisional programs, procedures, and standards, recommending improvements to align with industry best practices, CSA, and ISO standards.Conduct plant tours to verify compliance with standards and procedures; address deficiencies through corrective actions or Station Condition Records (SCRs).Provide technical advice and guidance to managers and work groups to resolve performance issues impacting unit output, capability, or productivity.Facilitate communications across the Maintenance organization, ensuring timely and consistent sharing of information on plans, training, and performance measures.Develop staffing and deployment plans, including forecasting contractor and training needs; coordinate delivery of supplemental training programs.Perform contract administration duties, including vendor oversight, observation and coaching, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.Lead or support maintenance-related projects and initiatives, coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.Provide technical assistance and interpretation of standards, codes, and policies, ensuring compliance and consistency.Contribute to short- and long-term planning initiatives and participate in organizational self-assessment programs, reporting results and recommending improvements.Promote a safety-first culture, leading by example and reinforcing OPG’s values of safety, integrity, and excellence.QualificationsCompletion of Grade XII plus 3 years of post-secondary study in mechanical, control, or civil technology (or equivalent education/experience).Strong knowledge of the assembly, operation, and maintenance of relevant systems, equipment, and materials.Ability to perform technical calculations and precision measurements using mathematics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, documenting procedures, and facilitating effective communications.Experience in maintenance program development, business planning, or technical program coordination is an asset.Knowledge of safety codes, CSA standards, ISO standards, and industry best practices preferred.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide leadership on project teams.**We thank all applicants for applying, however only those considered for an interview will be contacted directly**Spirit Omega is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
