With direction from the supervisor, Dr. Frances Chen, will perform routine research tasks in the Social Health Lab. Assists with reviewing literature, preparing study materials, scheduling appointments, acquiring and entering data, and writing progress reports.Organizational Status
Works under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Frances Chen. Interacts with graduate student researchers and other members of the research team.Work Performed- Reviewing and summarizing research articles related to the project.- Preparing study materials, which may include entering questionnaires into an online survey platform, formatting and editing consent and debriefing forms, and photocopying forms.- Contacting, recruiting and scheduling appointments with participants and community partners.- Collecting study data, cleaning data files, and updating study records.- Assisting in writing progress reports to research collaborators and community partners.- Adhering to TCPS2 guidelines concerning the confidentiality and respectful treatment of results and participants.Consequence of Error/Judgement
The applicant will be expected to behave in a professional manner in carrying out all duties. Work will be performed according to clear procedures and monitored by faculty supervisor on a regular basis. There are only limited opportunities for exercising judgement or making decisions in this position. Errors may result in the slowing down of productivity in the laboratory.Supervision Received

None.Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own.- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.Preferred Qualifications- Previous experience in experimental psychology laboratories, including working with study participants.- Effective oral and written communication.- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.- bility to follow established guidelines and protocols.- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
