
Resource Manager (Total Waste)

- Identifies and characterizes wastes.
- Prepares containers for proper TDG shipment
- Prepares and signs shipping paperwork including manifests for all shipments of waste.
- Coordinates scheduling and pickup of waste within Veolia and with third party providers
- Coordinates the procurement of necessary waste containers
- Communicates with clients, subcontractors and supervisors, any changes or discrepancies in contract and/or subcontract requirements
- Ensures that contract and/or subcontract requirements are being met and/or exceeded
- Analyzes financial performance of contracts
- Coordinates Client “in-plant” waste management systems
- Samples and prepares waste material samples for analysis.
- Tracks manifests, matches documents, and maintains files.
- Monitor activities, track waste and cost data and prepare comprehensive reports. Including: providing data to customer tracking database as required by client
- Provide/Analyze baseline reconciliation as required per contract or more often if needed to manage discrepancies.
- Assist with preparation of annual budget
- Performs and documents waste accumulation area inspections.
- Develop, implement and manage plans and projects focusing on the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste generated by manufacturing, pollution control and maintenance operations.
- Episodic Project Management - Develop, implement and manage from start to finish episodic projects - includes financial review, data entry, costing, creating proforma invoices, working with key subcontractors and verifying quality of work and ensuring all work is completed and performed safely. Schedule regular (daily, weekly, and as needed) project updates and scheduling calls with all key stake holders (client, employee leads, subcontractors, internal and external teams) and ensure you provide regular updates.
- Analyzes costs/benefits of pollution prevention program
- Facilitate and participate in internal and external ISO 14001 audits
- Continually evaluates markets and third party recyclers to ensure customer is receiving the greatest value for commodity by-products
- Support management systems & deliverables focusing on federal and local regulatory compliance standards as well as the plant's Environmental Management policies and procedures dealing with the proper management of waste and the prevention of pollution
- Other duties as assigned
- College/University degree preferred - in Environmental and/or Chemistry;
- 5-10 years or work experiences in a related field such as environmental services and project management;
- Knowledge of applicable Regulations (Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, O. Reg 347, Environmental Protection Act);
- Experience in completing Waste Characterizations including sampling, is an asset
- Great communication
- Great attention to detail - Google Suite of Tools - Google Docs, Sheets, Presentation etc;
