- Pay rate of $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications, in addition to a signing bonus paid at season end.

- Compensated travel time, depending on working location.
- Accommodation is provided during shifts and on resets
- Potential for work that extends past the firefighting season.
- Responsible of a 5-person fire crew, including but not limited to:
- Ensuring crew safety
- Ensure crew standards are upheld
- Train new recruits in basic fire suppression tactics
- Guiding new crew members through varying conditions and terrain
- Ensuring appropriate PPE and equipment is available for self and crew
- Receive work assignments from fire line supervisors and implement effective tactics to achieve assigned tasks
- Extinguish residual fire, including but not limited to breaking apart smoldering debris, extinguishing embers, or small flames.
- Moving burned debris so it cannot reignite.
- Operate trucks and ATVs.
- Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright and Wright Canada Holdings culture of safety and employee ownership.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Organization of equipment before, during and after shifts.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
- Other duties as required.
- Must have completed and hold validity throughout the season:
- S100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety (or equivalent)
- S185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance.
- S212 Fire Line Communications
- S230 Introduction to Supervision (Crew boss)
- S235 Burnoff and Backfiring
- ICS 100 (Incident Command System)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Acted as a Crew Leader on three (3) fires OR twenty (20) days as a fire fighter (minimum 240 hours required)
- Annual Physical Fitness Test—Moderate Standard
- Preference will be shown to candidates who possess:
- OFA Level 1 with Transportation Endorsement
- Chainsaw or Power Saw operator
- Wildland Fire Safety Danger Tree Assessor
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and work, including exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks such as rain, heat, sun, cold, snow.
- Work well alone and with others.
- Possesses the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Organization of equipment before, during and after shifts as needed.
- Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
