- Supervises monthly close activities. Prepares or oversees preparation of income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and various other accounting statements and reports.
- Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
- Analyzes and reconciles financial information and general ledger accounts and other reports.
- Prepares and analyzes forecasts and projections.
- Provides financial support to district managers and maintenance managers.
- Trains, conducts evaluations, and manages productivity of employees.
- Approves AP invoices, customer credits, P-card transactions, and more.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, in Accounting, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
- 5 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement)
- CPA required
- Bilingual (French and English) - written and spoken - We require a bilingual speaking supervisor because this role requires frequent interactions and communications with employees, customers and others who are located outside of Quebec.
- Microsoft Office (Excel) - advanced working proficiency
- Knowledge of ORACLE
- Process improvement. You love identifying areas for process optimization and automation within the accounting function, striving for increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Communicating clearly, both written and verbally. You have strong interpersonal skills and collaborate with other departments, within finance, operations, and corporate head office to ensure accurate financial information exchange and alignment of goals.
- Excel. This is definitely a must have! We use other computer systems too - so you'll need to be a quick learner and open to changing tools and processes.
- Manipulating data files to produce reports and analyzing results accordingly.
- Controls and compliance. You like to develop and enforce internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Motivating yourself. You're a self-starter and take pride in achieving goals. You are driven and want to become a subject-matter-expert.
