Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Are you interested in the opportunity to work as a Data Analyst at RBC? By applying to this jobposting, you will be considered for Data Analyst Role available at Operational Risk shared Services, where we leverage data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges. Our organization values creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning, and we are looking for a motivated university student to contribute to our data analysis efforts.What will you do? * Data Collection and Preparation: Assist in gathering, cleaning, profiling and transforming data from various sources to ensure data integrity and readiness for analysis
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Utilize Python and data analysis libraries (Pandas, Numpy, and many more) , and/or Tableau to analyze large datasets and generate meaningful insights. Familiar with some python visualization packages like plotly, matplotlib.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate data processing tasks, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency.
  • Data Quality: support data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions and align with department goals
What do you need to succeed?Must-have * Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, statistics. preferably in third year or master’s degree study.
  • Advanced Programming skills in Python and R, especially, Packages like, Pandas, Numpy, Plotly, Matplotllib, Seaborn, etc.
  • Experienced with Data Transformation and Manipulation
  • Experienced with diagnostic data analytics
  • Experience or understanding of Relational Database (and SQL), Hadoop ecosystem, and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to details and a passion for data-driven decision making.

Please note: This posting is for a 8-months Winter 2026 Student placement with a start date of January 2026, and end date of August 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:
  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2026), you must require the full 8-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
