Our client, an established and growing distribution company in Oakville, has an immediate opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join their team! This position is responsible for the day-to-day processing of AP and AR including processing invoices, payments, and receivables. This position is ideal for candidates with strong attention to detail, who thrive in a fast-paced, high volume setting.   • Accurately review and process vendor invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to vendor A/P inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Apply incoming payments (cheques, ACH, credit cards) to appropriate accounts
  • Prepare weekly aging A/R reports
  • Follow up on overdue accounts
  • Reconcile A/R accounts and resolve billing issues
  • Regularly access and review retail customer portals for posted deduction notices, invoices, and related documents
  • Ensure all deductions are accurately captured and recorded in the internal accounting system in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments
  • Provide additional accounting support as needed
Qualifications:
  • Post-Secondary diploma or certificate in Accounting coupled with 1+ year of of accounting or administrative experience
  • Candidates must possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with QuickBooks is an asset, proficiency with MS Office suite is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong attention to detail are critical to success in this position
  • Candidates must have proven ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
  • This is an in-office position
