- Drawing on your knowledge or experience in a laboratory, you will perform routine maintenance and verification of laboratory equipment in accordance with approved work instructions to meet regulatory requirements.
- Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will assist internal and external customers.
- Applying your attention to detail and commitment to quality, you will perform and record all testing related quality control/assurance activities.

- Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will participate in ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology training program with attained certification or eligibility for certification by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is required.
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is required, or eligible to obtain registration.
- A minimum of one year experience in a Transfusion Medicine, HLA Serology and Molecular related laboratory is preferred.
- General knowledge of hospital and various laboratory policies and procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), is required.
- Competency in the use of Laboratory software, computers within a Windows operating system using Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Displays telephone etiquette and maintains high professional standards.
- Demonstrates good listening skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, document work and assume responsibility for own work.
