Reports to: Hiring ManagerAbout the roleWe're seeking an experienced, hands‑on in‑house recruiter to lead full‑cycle hiring for a 3–6‑month contract. You'll partner with leaders to clarify requirements, build diverse pipelines, run a structured process, and close top candidates quickly. This is an internal role (not agency).What you'll do
- Own the end‑to‑end hiring process for engineering roles—from kickoff/intake through offer and onboarding handoff.
- Work with the hiring manager and the team to create clear role descriptions, structured interview plans, and decision criteria.
- Seek Candidates through postings, network, and outreach.
- Screen candidates and make recommendations for consideration.
- Assess skills and values alignment; schedule interviews, run and prep interviewers.
- Create offers (comp bands/approvals, references, negotiations).
- Keep organized and maintain pipelines; ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
- Build hiring templates, interview kits, rubrics, and interviewer training plans.
- Report weekly on pipeline health, time‑to‑fill, funnel conversion, and risks with clear recommended actions.
- Enhance employer brand through clear, candidate‑focused job posts and content.
- 3–5+ years of in‑house recruiting experience; consulting/engineering environment experience is a plus.
- A network of candidates to poll from.
- Proven success in filling technical roles quickly while maintaining high candidate satisfaction.
- Strong sourcing skills and fluency with recruiting tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.).
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and spreadsheet‑based reporting.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and offer‑closing skills.
- Commitment to structured, inclusive, and data‑driven hiring practices.
- Experience hiring for engineering consulting or professional services.
- Experience building interview rubrics/scorecards and training interviewers.
- Familiarity with Canadian employment practices (or relevant region).
- Duration: 3–6 months; full‑time (40 hrs/week).
- Engagement: Independent contractor or term employee (depending on local requirements).
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate with bi‑weekly payroll.
