- Assist in the development and execution of TC’s Natural Gas Strategy formulation and evaluation, including coordination of analysis, reports, presentations, executive summaries
- Structure and solve complex strategic questions related to market evolution, infrastructure development, and portfolio positioning.
- Synthesize diverse inputs (commercial, financial, operational, regulatory) into coherent views on opportunities and risks.
- Support and contribute to evaluation of investment opportunities, including acquisitions, divestitures, and organic growth initiatives
- Conduct peer and market analysis to understand competitive positioning and emerging industry dynamics.
- Support capital markets activities, including debt/equity narratives and credit rating agency engagement, with clear and credible strategic framing.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis of development opportunities and existing assets requiring investment and/or commercial decisions.
- Identify key project financial risks and benefits; propose commercial or structural alternatives to minimize risks while maximizing value.
- Contribute and coordinate as needed investment decision reports for management and Board approvals.
- Participate in periodic peer reviews of companies within our industry (strategies, financial analysis, asset allocation, competencies).
- Develop clear, insight-driven narratives that inform executive and Board-level decision making.
- Post-secondary education in a related relevant field (Statistics, Commerce, Economics, Engineering)
- 10 years of related progressive experience in strategy, corporate finance, consulting, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Strategy Formulation including the coordination of analysis, reports, presentations and executive level communication.
- Completion of an MBA (finance focus) or CFA
- Strategic understanding of the Natural Gas infrastructure business
- Working knowledge/understanding of Canadian and U.S. pipeline accounting and regulation
- Proven skills in collecting, gathering, visualizing and analyzing information in detail, including clearly synthesizing and communicating the results.
- Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
- Travel across North America to other company or supplier locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up 10% of work schedule)
