- Ensures all mechanical maintenance work orders and jobs are well planned, all safety policies and procedures followed, trades identified, or services (scaffolding, non-destructive testing, motoer removal, motor handover, etc), materials/tools prepared, and duration of tasks accurately and realistically defined and included on the work order.
- Inspects problem areas requiring repair work to determine what's wrong, location, access issues, criticality, and whether the expertise to complete repairs exists internally or if outside assistance is required.
- Ensures all required documentation is complete and up to date in the SAP system and any manual systems, ensures all files are updated as needed, and distributes documentation as required.
- Identifies opportunities to improve work through maintenance effectiveness / systems, equipment upgrades, and application of new technology.
- Ensures that the work order contains a proper description or that a prepared file is linked to the work order
- Informs operations superintendent of the operations specific requirements for carrying out a job (cleaning, positioning of equipment, etc)
- Trade ticket or post-secondary degree diploma in mechanical or electrical or equivalent work eperience
- Experience in estimating and planning work projects
- Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple, accurate instructions
- Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine & process drawings and have the ability to sketch or redline existing drawings
- Experience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Good organization, planning, math, computer, and communication skills
