Clients are.We are seeking a Masters of Social Work with a clinical specialization OR a Licensed Psychologist to provide crisis management and social support, and coordinate services and resources that will help our clients succeed. Our Mental Health Employment Program assists barriered Albertan’s through a multi-dimensional service model that includes skill development, employment preparation, and connection to jobs. In this role, you will be committed to the success of each client and will utilize a strength based, trauma informed approach to create an inclusive, supportive, and positive experience for all.The qualities you will bring to the position include:

What will you do?
  • In this position, you will help coordinate the services that clients need to realize success in our program and with employment.
  • You will recognize the value of lived experience and will maximize client engagement and feedback to ensure relevant and highly effective service delivery
  • You will help clients coordinate the resources they need to start employment and achieve employment success long term, and will provide crisis counselling and/or intervention across the programs
  • This project is highly flexible and will be delivered at our location, in the community, and virtually. You will be responsive to individual situations and will employ a flexible working model that will include some weekend and evening programming
  • As a highly collaborative individual you will build exceptionally strong relationships with community stakeholders, resources, and most of all, our clients
  • Guide clients in building support networks and connecting to applicable communities
  • Coach clients and staff to coordinate the resources the clients need to start employment and achieve employment success long term, and provide crisis counselling and intervention across the program
  • Provide high-level support and guidance to the Peer Support Program
  • Provide support across services, participating in skill building and career development activities, and fostering engagement strategies
  • Support team members with using trauma informed approaches and practices
What does it take to do this job?
  • Completion of a masters degree in Social Work or Psychology with a clinical specialization
  • Currently holds a valid License in Social Work or a License to practice Psychology within Alberta
  • 3+ years' experience supporting clients in a clinical or community setting
  • Highly knowledgeable in a strength based, trauma informed approach
  • Able to make professional evaluations, decisions, and recommendation for support planning and implementation
  • Highly knowledgeable, compassionate and solutions focused
  • Able to work independently and as a positive member of a team
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and their families
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in supporting people with a wide range of backgrounds including people with disabilities, those contending with mental health and substance use concerns, Indigenous youth and people from the 2SLGBTQI+ community
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a confidential environment and handle highly sensitive information
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • You must be flexible to work from the office as well as from home, based on the position and program requirements
  • Some weekend and evening work is required for this role
