
Manager, Procurement

- Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Support in developing and executing procurement plans aligned with company goals, while driving initiatives to improve supplier pricing, quality, and lead times.
- Supplier Management & Negotiation: Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, and relationship building with key suppliers to secure competitive terms and long-term supply stability.
- Team Development & Coaching: Lead and support a team of Buyers by providing coaching and direction to help execute procurement plans and meet business needs effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations, Finance, Sales, Warehousing, Quality, and Demand Planning teams to align procurement activities and improve business outcomes.
- Process Optimization & Systems: Drive adoption and effective use of ERP systems and procurement tools to streamline purchasing workflows, improve replenishment accuracy, and manage material master data.
- Performance & Cost Improvements: Lead initiatives to reduce lead times, enhance order accuracy, and support continuous improvement projects related to vendor performance and procurement efficiency.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Develop contingency plans for key suppliers, support the sustainability matrix, and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Reporting & Metrics: Monitor supplier and team performance using KPIs, lead corrective action plans, and optimize tools like YouTrack for tracking material changes, pricing, and quality claims.
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or people management role
- Strong skills in supplier negotiation, relationship management, and cost reduction initiatives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Consider an asset:
- PMAC or CPP designation
- Experience with Infor Visual 10
- Understanding/familiarity of cGMP
- Experience within a pharmaceutical or food environment
- Experience within a regulated environment, packaging/ food/ pharmaceutical (FDA, Health Canada)
