Your Impact:As the Maintenance/Night Manager at Mount Engadine Lodge (MEL), your expertise will ensure that the lodge is running smoothly, safely, and with the highest standards of care. From overseeing daily maintenance checks and coordinating repairs to supporting improvement projects and contractor visits, you play an essential role in making our guests' experience memorable. In the evenings, you will assume the role as Night Manager, addressing guest and lodge issues as they may arise. Your leadership and hands-on approach will help foster a culture of collaboration, positivity, and growth, that not only contribute to an excellent guest experience, but an excellent work environment.Your Superpowers:

What You'll Do:
  • Guest Experience
  • Serving as Night Manager, address and resolve any guest and/or lodge needs that may arise during the evening or overnight hours.
  • Be proactive in providing excellent guest service, being readily available and approachable to all guests, while assisting MEL Team Members to understand guests' ever-changing needs and expectations, and how to exceed them.
  • Communicate services and amenities of MEL to guests and provide concierge support with a fluent knowledge of local restaurants, special events, city attractions, and outdoor activities as needed.
  • Operations & Housekeeping
  • Conduct and log regular maintenance checks of all CHVI/MEL property, equipment (including trucks), and improvement projects to ensure MEL is safe and fully operational.
  • Perform any repairs as needed, coordinating approval of outside contractors and facilitating their visits if additional support is needed.
  • Follow up on all service requests or concerns for MEL and communicate with lodge and maintenance team regarding repair and maintenance, extra cleaning, and other items that guests have requested.
  • Collaborate and support with the CHVI Facilities & Asset Manager during his Sunday visits weekly to ensure maintenance schedule is adhered to.
  • Oversee the monthly water sample delivery to Canmore.
  • Facilitate proper disposal of waste as needed.
  • Support site inspections and hosted events with visiting partners.
  • Verify that all MEL Policies and Procedures are being maintained in each area of the property through regular guestroom & property audits, providing prompt feedback including repairs, extra cleaning, room damages, missing MEL property, and any unusual appearances.
  • Team Leadership & Culture
  • Lead by example, taking an all-hands approach – no job is too small when it comes to delivering an exceptional guest and team experience.
  • Lead and train any additional maintenance employees on tasks and appropriate safety measures.
  • Motivate and guide staff to solve guest and MEL Team Member related concerns together.
  • Be stewards of a healthy active team culture, reporting any issues you may see or hear.
Additional Details:
  • Hours of Work:
  • On-site; 5 days per week (including Sunday), 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Overtime expected to handle emergencies and unexpected staff shift changes.
