- Anaerobic digestion of Organic Waste
- Hazardous waste transfer stations and solidification
- Hazardous water treatment (physico-chemical and 3 phase centrifuges)
- Drinking water production and waste water treatment facilities
- Sludge drying and pelletizing
- Realise regular visits on Veolia sites ( >50% of time ).
- Provide the overall direction and management of his/her assigned projects, including the assigned personnel, equipment, and subcontractors, applying proper and effective project management procedures and skills.
- Ensure the project or assignment is planned and coordinated according to the required schedule, with strict adherence to health and safety, quality and budget considerations.
- Support and animate the Process Safety Management community in Canada and apply best practices in PSM (facilitate Process Hazard Assessment/Hazop, Root Cause analysis, etc…)
- Provide technical mentoring, training and operational expertise to O&M employees.
- Participate in defining the long term strategy to develop the Canadian activities by bringing technical expertise to the business development team.
- Lead technical due diligences of new business acquisition or plant upgrades.
- Assist Business Development in preparation of estimates and procedures in planning of projects, financial estimates with a strong focus on operational efficiencies.
- Ensure technical quality and optimal health and safety in all aspects of job performance and compliance per all applicable local regulations and standards and Veolia standards and best practices.
- Actively participate in feedback and post-job evaluation of assigned projects.
- Complete and issue clear and rigorous technical reports.
- Other duties as directed.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in transversal technical functions and/or operational functions
- Minimum of 5 years in an operational function (ex : operation manager, process engineer, commissioning manager…)
- Strong operational and field experience
- Experience in environmental field (wastewater, hazardous waste or solid waste activities)
- Chemical Engineer. Ontario P. Eng certificate is a strong asset. or Bachelors of Science in Chemistry or Environmental studies
- Strong abilities to understand technical and process issues and define practical solution (analysis/problem solving/decision making).
- Strong ability to explain complex technical/theoretical concepts to field operators.
- Experience in communication with field employees, management of operations.
- Ability to connect and communicate with technical peers in the company.
- Ability to work and coordinate projects with other departments (IT, Finance, Business Development teams, etc…).
- Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management standards.
- Ability to facilitate PHA/HAZOP and Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong project management, result oriented, performance and improvement oriented.
- Experience in Operational Excellence implementation (5S, lean-Six Sigma or others methodologies).
- Ability to foster teamwork and excellence in work coordination.
- Strong and rigorous technical writing skills and ability to develop Excel complex spreadsheets.

- Required to have a valid driving licence.
- Language skills for business in English. French speaking is a strong asset.
